Each Ceramic has unique characteristics. Generally, they have high hardness, excellent heat resistance, good electrical insulation, and low thermal expansion. Some ceramics like Aluminum Nitride and Silicon Carbide have high thermal conductivity. Zirconia, on the other hand, has low thermal conductivity as well as noticeably high wear quality, and is often used for pistons, cylinders, sleeves and clamping parts. We have intensive experience of making these critical parts that require extremely high wear resistance as well as tight tolerances.
*1 EDM: Electrical Discharge Machining. Using electrical sparks, material is removed from the work piece(electric conductor) to obtain a desired shape.
*2CMC(Ceramic Matrix Composites): A fiber-reinforced ceramic composed of SiC fibers and SiC matrix. It is light-weight, high-temperature strength, and high durability material developed as a next-generation material for aero-engines.
