To support our custom molding, in-house mold and tool building offers customers with a one-stop-shop for their plastic molding project. We use proprietary mold-building techniques to build inexpensive composite molds, capable of long production runs in both RTM and RIM molding. Our composite molds provide OEMs with a fast and economical route to quality parts, as compared to the costly high pressure tooling used by other processes. Aluminum and steel molds for high volume production can also be designed and machined at Osborne with the help of our outstanding team of engineers and mold craftsmen.
While open molding methods used by "hand-layup" and "chopper-gun" shops offer cheap tooling, they also can contribute to lower part quality. Our two-piece, closed molds quickly repay their higher initial cost through longevity and overwhelming part quality advantages.
