Messier-Bugatti-Dowty Challenger Family Landing Gear

Description
Already on board the Challenger 600 program (with production ceasing in 1983), Messier-Bugatti-Dowt y was selected to supply landing gears to the Challenger 601 (first flight in April 1982) and Challenger 604, which entered into service in January 1996. This aircraft, one of the top selling large business jets since 1999, offers advanced avionics and mature systems developed through fifteen years of refinements and Bombardier's regional jet expertise. The Challenger has retractable twin-wheel tricycle type landing gear. Challenger 601 saw the introduction of steer-by-wire technology and a locking segment side brace is on Challenger 604. The Challenger 605 was introduced in 2006 as an avionics and structural upgrade of the 604 design. Based on Messier-Bugatti-Dowt y's experience in developing complete landing gear systems, Bombardier looked to Messier-Dowty to assume the responsibility for integrating the system for the Challenger 300. In May 1999, Messier-Bugatti-Dowt y was awarded the contract to design and supply the main and nose landing gears, steering control, manual release and door mechanism systems. The steerable two-wheel nose gear retracts forward and twin wheel main landing gear units retract inwards. In 2010 Bombardier launched the next evolution of the Challenger 300 with the Challenger 350. Messier-Bugatti-Dowt y was asked to support the program with strengthened MLG and NLG. The Aircraft received its certification in June of 2014.
