POSITAL has come up with a robust non-contact encoder to replace old-fashioned geared potentiometers. Thanks to the contact-free recording of the angular position and revolution, the magnetic encoders from POSITAL are completely wear-free. Their magnetic functional principle not only enables a durable design and compact dimensions but also makes the encoders considerably less costly than optoelectronic models. The encoders have a diameter of 36.5 mm and are available as solid and hollow shaft versions with industrial analog interfaces that provide current (4 - 20mA) and voltage (0 - 10V) output. The diagnostic yellow and green LED lights as well as the push buttons on the encoder make it very easy to install and scale.
